The Maryland team from GBCS came to help Urban Arts for our first week of camp at City Mission. They were wonderful!

The City Mission middle and high school girls performed a dance and song that was wonderful! They were practicing the afternoon of the show.

The City Mission middle and high school guys wrote a powerful drama about having patience. They based the location at the Detroit River Walk.
We built and painted this puppet theater for the elementary students to perform their original puppet shows at the final performance. During the week the kids created and made their puppets out of socks and lots of cool "extras".
Painted birdhouses, door knobs, decorative jars are some of the art projects the kids worked on during the elementary City Mission camp.

Brandon, from City Mission, joined the Urban Arts team the rest of the summer and helped in the dance department. We are so thankful for him!

The CDC girls were troopers in their dance class of a 3rd floor building with no air during the hottest week of the summer! (we moved outside after this day)

We surprised the kids with water balloons one afternoon. It was a nice break and much need time to cool off!
